Allegany Museum Collections Management Internship: Spring 2016
Job Description: The expectations of the intern to the Museum Manager at the Allegany Museum are primarily focused around the organization, care, and display of the museum’s permanent collections. The intern will also assist in the preparation of museum programs for visitors of all ages, including office managerial tasks such as copying, data entry, etc.

Student Learning Objectives (What Students Will Learn): Students will learn specific roles of collections management including: Proficiency in Past Perfect data collections software, Construction of exhibits, Deepen understanding of local history, Provide experience within the field of Museum work.
Dates Need/Length of Time: Part time (<10/Week), March – May Spring 2016, Actual hours TBD between student and supervisor, Office Hours of the Museum include M-F: 9-1
What kind of student are we looking for: The Museum is looking for a student who is pursuing their undergraduate degree in History or the Social Sciences. This internship is for those who desire more experience within the museum field.
